Abstract:
In the introductory note I will talk about some questions of the creation of the institutional background of the system of IT and telecommunications, and I will touch upon some of the important legislative issues.

I will briefly outline the Hungarian Information Society Strategy, which is aimed at the integration of Hungary into the European Union, and which is very closely connected with the eEurope and eEurope+ programs. The Sub-strategy for Security is and integral part of the Information Strategy as well. And finally I will give a summary of two programs of the Ministry of Informatics and Telecommunications, which create a basis for data protection and information security.
